Catalyst Performance is a longevity focused personal training studio in the Singapore CBD, built on one idea: train for the decades, not the deadline. The studio sits in Manulife Tower at Cross Street and coaches working professionals in their 30s, 40s, 50s and beyond who want their bodies to keep pace with their careers.
Most gyms sell a twelve week transformation. Catalyst sells healthspan, the number of years a person stays strong, mobile and independent. That difference shows up in how the studio starts, how it measures, and what it publishes for free.
The 4-Pillar Healthspan Assessment
Every member begins with a measurement, not a sales pitch. The Catalyst Healthspan Assessment scores four pillars.
Body Composition. InBody segmental analysis covering skeletal muscle mass, body fat percentage and visceral fat, so the plan targets tissue rather than a scale number.
Cardiorespiratory Fitness. A sub-maximal step test that estimates aerobic capacity, the single strongest predictor of all cause mortality in the research literature.
Stability. A joint by joint mobility and balance screen that finds the weak links before they become injuries.
Strength. Measured pushing, pulling, hinging and carrying capacity, benchmarked against age and sex norms.
The four pillars combine into a single Healthspan Score. It gives a starting number, a ranked list of gaps, and a way to prove progress in twelve weeks rather than argue about it. Re-measurement runs on a fixed cycle, so the programme changes when the data changes.
Free tools, open to anyone
Catalyst publishes its assessment logic rather than hiding it. The free 3 minute Healthspan Audit asks a short set of questions and returns a personalised healthspan read with the biggest gaps ranked, no account required. Alongside it sits a hub of eleven evidence backed calculators covering protein targets, aerobic capacity, grip strength percentiles, resting metabolic rate, body composition and more. Every calculator cites the primary research behind it, and every one is embeddable, so other health and fitness sites can use them directly.
There is also a published Chrome extension, the Healthspan Lexicon, which explains longevity and training jargon inline while you read.
Who it is built for
Desk based professionals in their 30s and beyond who are quietly losing capacity year on year. People on GLP-1 medication who need to protect muscle while they lose weight, since untrained weight loss on these drugs strips a large share of lean mass. Executives who want their annual health screening numbers to actually move. And anyone training for a specific event, from a first marathon to functional fitness racing.
How the coaching works
Sessions are one to one or small group, programmed from the assessment rather than a template. Content and protocols are medically reviewed by Dr Luqman Haris, MBBS, who is part of the founding team. Online coaching is available for members who travel or train remotely.
Why it exists
Two decades of coaching taught the founders that most people quit because nothing they did was ever measured. Give someone a number, show it move, and the habit holds. That is the whole method.
Catalyst Performance is at 8 Cross Street, Manulife Tower, Singapore. Consultations are complimentary and the Healthspan Audit is free at catalystperformance.sg.
